LogMaker

Posted in Ethical Christmas Presents on August 4th, 2008 by admin – 1 Comment

Continuing our look at environmentally-friendly Christmas presents we’ve found this Log Maker from Gadgets UK.

One of the problems I’ve got is that one of my neighbours has stolen my green bin so I have to take the garden waste to the tip and with the petrol being used it’s not all that environmentally friendly. The solution would be one of these “log makers” which you can get from Gadgets UK for £24.95.

Basically you can produce newspaper encased ‘logs’ to burn on an open fire, chiminea, BBQ or a wood burning stove. I’m not sure how environmentally friendly the smoke would be, but at least you’re not filling up the ground with more waste.

The log maker is a pretty good gift for both a gardener and environmentalist.

You can also get the log maker from:
* Natural Collection – £19.95
* EvenGreener – £20.00

Eco Button Power Saver For Your ComputerI’m going to have to get one of these Eco Button Power Saver For Your Computer thingies as I’m always leaving my computer on just in case I want to come back to it in the evening – I know I shouldn’t as I’m always complaining about leaving the lights on or recycling!

The Eco Button Power Saver For Your Computer is perfect for when you’ve got to take a short break, say to make a brew, skive from work, have a natter etc and you still want to do your bit to help save the planet. Bosses can also install these to keep their electricity bill slightly lower. Saying that we should all have them at home seeing as electricity bills seem to be going ever-upward!

But there’s more to the Eco Button Power Saver than just saving electricity. Everytime you use it it saves how many carbon units, power and money you have saved by using the button! Now that is fab!
